Help people by taking first steps of faith online!
Now more than ever, this season has been bringing people desperately searching for peace in the midst of crisis. This could be the answer people are searching for. And we have the unique privilege of leading people to take steps closer to Jesus - the only True source of Life and Peace. But before anything else, we can start to explore where they are at in this journey through our digital platforms.
What are First Steps Cards?
The First Steps cards is a set of lessons designed to help individuals and groups know the basics of the Christian faith. The cards are designed in photo format so that they could be shared and discussed with convenience in online platforms.
Why the First Steps Cards?
The First Steps cards is a simple and transferable tool that a potential discipler can use to lead an online Bible study group. Christ commanded us to “go and make disciples of all nations.” God has provided us an opportunity through the internet because “ALL NATIONS” are literally going online.
Paul also encourages us in II Timothy 2:2 that “the things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” Any disciple who has this set of cards can simply share this.
How to use the First Steps Cards?
Video Call
Set up a video conference call with your group.
The person who has the First Step cards should share his/her screen showing the lesson to be discussed for the session during the new lesson portion of the session.
Members of the group would go through the lesson, reading the verses and answering the questions.
Chat Groups
During the new lesson part of the chat, the person who has the First Steps cards should send to the group chat only the photo to be discussed. Do not send all photos.
Each member would individually go through the current lesson, reading the verses and answering the questions.
Each member would type their responses to the questions and send them all at once (staggered responses are discouraged).
Each member would read one another’s responses to the questions, affirming, clarifying, and correcting one another along the way.
Reminders:
1. Don’t forget to still apply the Three Thirds Process in your time together.
2. Follow the guidelines on online discipleship.
